Athletic Greens is committed to providing a safe, effective, and high quality product. In order to do that, we seek to continually improve our formula and ingredients based on the latest, cutting edge research.

The Athletic Greens product was launched in 2010, and from day one we thoroughly adopted the Kaizen principles. Kaizen (改善) is Japanese for "improvement", and is a term used in western business and life-coaching to mean continual improvement; looking for even small ways to continually improve, all the time.

In applying these principles to Athletic Greens, over the years we have continued to seek improvement in our formula, our ingredients, and in our business practices. We never stop learning, growing and researching. It’s our mission to continue adding value to our products, and improving the lives of our customers.

Since 2010, we have made 51 iterations to the product. For example, iteration 49 was the addition of an adaptogenic herb called Rhodiola rosea. Adaptogens are an amazing class of herbs that respond to influences like stress, and can aid in normalizing sleep patterns and lowering everyday physical and mental fatigue. We made the decision to add Rhodiola rosea after reviewing clinical trials that showed the herb can help improve performance in endurance athletes and may be a potent ally for all in the battle against stress, depression and adrenal fatigue. We use a concentrated rhodiola rosea root dry extract, and this joins some of the other adaptogens in the formula such as phosphatidylserine, eleutherococcus senticosus, and withania somnifera (ashwagandha).

Iterations 52 and 53 are in the works, and we can’t wait to share the improvements coming with these and future iterations with you!
